Multicultural Night

Hawthorn celebrated its fourth annual Multicultural Night with more than 500 people celebrating culture through dance.  The event began with kindergarten and third grade dual language students singing and dancing for families.  The Mexican Folkloric Dance Group of Chicago performed traditional Mexican dances.  Additionally, families shared recipes during the potluck dinner. The event was sponsored by the Cultural Committee, which includes dual language teachers and parents.

Dear Townline Elementary and School of Dual Language Parents,
Beginning on April 21th our Physical Education Classes (grades 2-5) will be involved in an in-house

roller skating program. Skating is a “life time sport” that enhances balance, coordination, agility and other motor skills. This wonderful form of exercise can either be aerobic and/or anaerobic.

5th Graders Wrestle at Middle School Level

Dual Language is proud to congratulate two of our 5th graders who are really shining in the wrestling arena.  Will L. is wrestling for our Middle School program at 70 Lbs, while Gabe L. is competing at 75 Lbs. Not only are both of these young men varsity starters for us, but they both qualified for middle school sectionals as well. Will earned 2nd place at regionals, while Gabe was the Champion of his respective weight class. Both boys were the sole 5th graders in their brackets, competing against all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in their respective divisions.
